Lake Geneva Triathlon Series

LOCATION:
Reid Park, Fontana, Wisconsin, which is located on the western shore of Geneva Lake at the intersection of Fontana Blvd. and the lakefront.

ELIGIBILITY:
Participants under 18 years of age need the written consent of a parent. The right to accept or reject any entry is reserved.

SANCTION:
This race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. All participants must be current members or purchase a one day license for $10 .

ACCOMMODATION:
There is a block of rooms reserved at The Abbey Resort, 269 Fontana Boulevard, Fontana, Wisconsin; phone: 262-275-8811, at a discounted rate for race participants. There are also a number of other motels in the vicinity. Please check with the Geneva Lakes Chamber of Commerce.

PARKING:
MUNICIPAL LOTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. In addition to the municipal lots, please use the following parking lots:

St. Benedict's Catholic Church (1/3 mile from start)
Located at 137 Dewey Avenue in Fontana at the southwest corner of US67 and Dewey Avenue. From the south from the Village of Walworth take US67 north for about one mile to Main Street. Go north or left on Main Street one third mile to Dewey Avenue. Turn right or east to St. Benedict’s Church. From the north on US67 go into Fontana to Main Street and go west or right and stay on Main Street to Dewey Avenue. Go left or east on Dewey Avenue to the church. Walk bike and gear up Mill Street north to Third Avenue where you can cross US67 and go east on Third Avenue to the transition area.

Fontana Elementary School (1/2 mile from start)
Located at 450 South Main Street. From the south take US67 south from the Village of Walworth one mile to Main Street. Go left or north on Main Street one mile to school. From the north on US67 from Williams Bay go into Fontana to Main Street and go right or west a half mile to school right or west ½ mile to school. Walk bikes from school east on Main Street, cross US67 and stay on Third Avenue to the lakefront.

Duck Pond Parking Lot (1/2 mile from start)
From the north take US67 south from Williams Bay as you are entering Fontana down the big hill. Turn right or west on Wild Duck Road and follow the arrows to parking lot. Walk bike east on Wild Duck Road to US67 and go right or south to Third Avenue and go left or east to the lakefront.

Community Church (1/3 mile from start)
Located at the southeast corner of Kinzie and High Street. Take Kinzie Ave east from US67 to church. Located near the lakefront.

PACKET PICKUP will be held at the Cobalt Show Room adjacent to Gordy's Boat House Restaurant, 336 Lake Avenue, Fontana, Wisconsin, on Friday evening and Saturday morning. See the Schedule for details.

DINNER: There will be a pasta dinner buffet at Gordy's Boat House Restaurant, 336 Lake Avenue, Fontana, Wisconsin.

STARTING AREA: Reid Park, Fontana, Wisconsin.

AID STATIONS:
There will be aid stations serving water and Gatorade every two miles on the run courses. The Half Extreme course has three water/aid stations on the bike course; the first station at SMILES in Darien will have energy bars and gel. The Olympic course has one aid station at mile 20 in Zenda. The other bike courses have no aid stations. Water will be available in the transition area.

AWARDS (adult) will be presented to the top 3 male and female finishers overall as well as the top three male and female finishers in each age division. The ceremony will take place in the gazebo in Reid Park.

Swim Course:
Projected water temperature: 65 - 70o F. Wetsuits recommended.

1/2 Extreme A 1.2 mile swim
Olympic A .9 mile swim
Sprint A .5 mile swim
SuperSprint A .25 mile swim

Bike Course:
1/2 Extreme A 56 mile bike course. Technical support teams will travel
the course and aid stations will be located throughout the course
Olympic A 25 mile bike course
Sprint A 17 mile bike course
SuperSprint A 17 mile bike course

Run Course:
1/2 Extreme A 13.1 mile run (2 loop course)
Olympic A 6.2 mile loop course into the hills of Fontana and Williams Bay, WI
Sprint A 3.1 mile run course
SuperSprint A 1 mile run course
