The Lake Michigan Triathlon Series is held in the historic lakeside town of Kenosha, WI.
Specifically, the Lake Michigan Triathlon Series begins and ends on the beautiful grounds of Simmons Island Beach located in the redeveloped downtown Kenosha area just north of the city of Kenosha marina. Kenosha is conveniently located east of I-94 just north of the Illinois/Wisconsin state line.
Now in its Eighth
year, the Series includes 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon races along with Olympic and Sprint
distance triathlons. The swim stage commences on the western shore of Lake Michigan at Simmons Island Beach (.9 mi. Olympic, .5 mi. Sprint), followed by cycling through the streets of Kenosha (25 mi. Olympic, 15 mi. Sprint), and finishes with a run in and around Simmons Island.
Duathlon
- The Duathlon begins with a 5k run starting at the Simmons Island
beach house. The first run is followed by a 25 mile bike race using
the same route as the Olympic triathlon bike course. The final stage
of the Duathlon is another 5k run using the same course.
Road Races - Half Marathon
(4 loop course), 10k, and 5k races will
also be held as part of the 2010
