COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:

MARATHON: Geneva Lake is "one of the Great Blue Lakes of the World." Geneva Lake has been a Mecca for tourists since the late 1800's. The lake is nine miles long and 170 feet deep, spring fed, and clear. The course is a challenging and picturesque route around the perimeter of Geneva Lake. Geneva Lake is located in the glaciated hills of southeastern Wisconsin. The scenic views and unbelievable hills combined with a final run on an ancient Indian trail provide the ingredients for a very memorable marathon. The marathon will be both demanding for the best runners and an opportunity not to be missed for those runners looking for the ultimate marathon challenge. The USAT & F certified course starts in downtown Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on the lakefront bridge and follows a southwesterly route around the lake through the Villages of Fontana and Williams Bay, then proceeding east along the lake back to Library Park in Lake Geneva.

MARATHON WALK: The walk begins at 5:00 a.m. at the Lakefront bridge and follows the marathon course. You may pick up your packet at the start beginning at 4:30 a.m.

MARATHON RELAY: The relay begins at 8:00 a.m. and consists of three segments.  The relay consists of 3 segments. The 1st segment is approximately 7.5 miles in length and begins at the lakefront bridge and ends at the Zenda Water Stop. The 2nd segment (7.5 miles) begins in Zenda, WI and ends at the Half Marathon finish at Reid Park in Fontana, WI. The final segment begins in Fontana (Half Marathon finish) and is about 11 miles long (marathon finish). Rides will be provided if necessary; please see race director.  This event is open to 2 and/or 3 person teams.

Adventure Race: Starts at 8:15 a.m. The Lake Geneva Extreme Adventure Race will consist of a brutal cross country race along the north shore of Geneva Lake, beginning in downtown Library Park. The shore path utilized for the 8 mile cross country race is the original path established by Chief Big Foot and the Potawatomie Indian tribe who lived on the western shore of Lake Geneva in the 1800's. The foot race will be followed by a demanding and cold 12 mile kayak race along the shores of Lake Geneva. The adventure race begins with the 5k and 10k races and is designed to challenge experienced and beginning adventure racers alike.
