2010 Lake Michigan Triathlon and Duathlon Races
July 11, 2009

LOCATION:
Simmons Island Beach, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Kenosha, Wisconsin is located on the western shore of Lake Michigan between Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chicago, Illinois.

ELIGIBILITY:
Participants under 18 years of age need the written consent of a parent.  The right to accept or reject any entry is reserved.

ACCOMMODATION:
There is a block of rooms reserved at Best Western Harborside Inn & Kenosha Conference Center, 5125-6th Avenue (7 miles east of I-94 on Hwy. 158), Kenosha
262-658-3281, 800-WESTERN (937-8376) at a discounted rate for race participants.  There are also a number of other motels in the vicinity of I-94 and Highway 50.

PARKING:
There is plenty of parking in the area on the local side streets.  There is NO PARKING on Simmons Island.

PACKET PICKUP will be held at the Best Western Harborside Inn & Kenosha Conference Center on Friday evening and Saturday morning. See the Schedule for details.  

STARTING AREA Simmons Island Beach

AID STATIONS:
There will be an aid station serving water and sports drinks every two miles for all run courses.  There are no aid stations on the bike course.  Water will also be available in the transition area.

AWARDS (adult) will be presented to the top 3 male and female finishers overall as well as the top three male and female finishers in each age division. The ceremony will take place in the tent at Simmons Island Beach.

SUPPORT:
Thank you to all of the Kenosha area civic organizations and volunteers who are committed to making your race a safe and memorable experience and to the dedicated staff of Lake Geneva Sports.  We are always looking for new volunteer groups, so please contact the race director if you are interested.  

FINISH MEDALS - All finishers will receive a medal.

COURSES:
Swim Course:
Olympic- A .9 mile swim in picturesque Lake Michigan.
Sprint- A .5 mile swim.
Duathlon - A 3.1 mile run substituted.
Projected water temperature: 55 - 60 oF. Wetsuits recommended.

Bike Course:
Olympic- A 25 mile course on and around Simmons Island in downtown Kenosha.
Sprint- A 15 mile course using part of the Olympic bike course.
Duathlon - Same as the Olympic Course.

Run Course:
Olympic- A 6.2 mile course along the Lake Michigan shoreline
Sprint- A 3.1 mile run using part of the Olympic run course.
Duathlon - 3.1 mile run.
